Do I have to be registered disabled or be a Hillingdon resident to be eligible to use the service?
No, the service is for anyone with a mobility problem, regardless of whether the problem is temporary or permanent and this applies to locals and visitors alike.
Is there a fee for using the service?
Yearly membership is £18.
In additional to this, there will be a £3 fee for each visit.
If you are only intending to use our services once or twice a year, you don’t need to pay the annual charge. You just pay £5 for the first 4 hours of each visit, after which the charge will be increased to £8. If you go over the paid time you should pay the additional £3 on your return.
Extended hire charges are as follows:
Wheelchair hire will be charged at £5 per day with a £20 deposit.
Scooter hire will be charged at £10 per day with a £150 deposit.
How long can I borrow the equipment for during the day?
From 1st November our hours are Monday to Friday 9.15 – 4pm (we need time to clean equipment before we go home for the day). The last hire is at 2.30pm. You are welcome to borrow equipment for as long or short a time as you like between these times.
Where can I go using the equipment?
You can access the whole of Uxbridge town centre which includes both shopping centres, the Civic Centre and the local attractions including the park.
Is there anyone available to help me with my shopping?
Because of the coronavirus, we are minimising contact between staff and customers. We are therefore unable to help with shopping at the present time.
What happens if I want to borrow equipment for longer than one day.
You may borrow a manual wheelchair or an electric, fold up scooter for a period of up to 6 weeks. Click the Extended Hire link at the top of the screen for full details.
Do I need to book equipment?
Not necessarily, but if there is a scooter or wheelchair you particularly prefer it would be a good idea to ring us and reserve it.
Do I need to pay for parking?
If you are a Blue Badge holder you get four hours free parking while you’re using our equipment.
How do you handle customer’s personal information?
When you register with us, we collect and store some information about you such as your address and phone number. We have always handled this information carefully and now that the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) have come into effect we have taken steps to make sure that we comply fully.
