The Most Frequently Asked Questions Are:

Do I have to be registered disabled or be a Hillingdon resident to be eligible to use the service?
No, the service is for anyone with a mobility problem, regardless of whether the problem is temporary or permanent and this applies to locals and visitors alike.

Is there a fee for using the service?
Until 31st December 2018, £18 lets you access the service six days a week for a whole year. If you only intend to visit once or twice a year, we offer a day rate of £5. For yearly customers there is no set fee for daily hire but we do ask our customers to make a donation when they use the equipment in order to cover maintenance and repair costs for our vehicles. As a rough guide, on average our customers tend to donate £3 per visit.

From January 1st 2019 we will be changing our charges. The new charges are as follows:

Yearly membership will remain the same at £18 per year.

In additional to this, there will be a £3 fee for each visit.

Single use customers will be charged £8 per visit.

Long term hire charges will also increase and they will be charged as follows:

Wheelchair hire will be charged at £5 per day with a £20 deposit.

Scooter hire will be charged at £10 per day with a £150 deposit.

How long can I borrow the equipment for during the day?
We are open from 9.15 am and need the equipment back by 4.30 pm. The last hire is at 3.00pm. You are welcome to borrow equipment for as long or short a time as you like between these times.

Where can I go using the equipment?
You can access the whole of Uxbridge town centre which includes both shopping centres, the Civic Centre and the local attractions including the park.

Is there anyone available to help me with my shopping?
If we have enough staff on duty we will always help you carry your shopping out to a car parked here on level 2.

What happens if I want to borrow equipment for longer than one day or use it outside Uxbridge town centre.
You may borrow a manual wheelchair or an electric, fold up scooter for a period of up to 6 weeks. Click the holiday hire link at the top of the screen for full details.

Do I need to book equipment?
Not necessarily, but if there is a scooter or wheelchair you particularly prefer it would be a good idea to ring us and reserve it.

Do I need to pay for parking?
You get four hours free parking while you’re using our equipment.

How do you handle customer’s personal information?

When you register with us, we collect and store some information about you such as your address and phone number. We have always handled this information carefully and now that the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) have come into effect we have taken steps to make sure that we comply fully.
